Golden Days of Memory
Golden memories will never wilt
Of you
With tools, your truck...
The home you built.
Your precious canines,
Spot and Lad,
So many memories
Of you
Dear Dad.
If God holds tears
Within a var
Over these years
From earth's sore wars
Of love, of work
Of death and sorrow
From day to day
And each tomorrow
Oh Papa! The var must
Needful be
Ever so large
Prepared for me
Receiving tears
Over the years
In loss of past,
In loss of Thee
Until I gain eternity.
Ravaging
Time of moth and rust...
Yet memories Golden
I hold! I Must!
For though my tears still
Fall, it's true,
For pain of loss
Oh dad! Of you!
I revel in the yesterdays
Peeking through
Time's misty haze.
