Flipping Between Parallel Sides
When the walls of my world crumble right in,
I slip through a portal to begin
Again in a softer place, where the veil is thin -
On this other side I always win.
Some call it dreaming, some call it flight,
But I call it flipping, when strife is too tight.
Changing lanes sure beats a road-rage fight,
I can switch back when I know it's right.
I’m not lost, just shifting sides for a while,
To the parallel show side, where I can smile.
Where sorrow burns slower, grief don’t sting.
Where I can laugh freely, doing my thing.
I flip when it hurts too much to stay,
I'm sorry, I have no other way.
To live, not just to survive,
I'm going other side, where I’m alive.
I'm flipping the switch...
to the other side!
Let my hand go, you can't come too.
It's a singularity, the ride you do -
With only room for one at a time.
When into the worm hole you climb.
This spacetime’s like a cosmic deck.
I shuffle the cards: It bends cause and effect.
I strum one string, ten other hum back,
I've gotta get to this other stack.
I'll come back home to your side soon.
Just wait to hear the sonic boom.
As I break through to switch back.
To get our lost love back on track.
I flip when it hurts too much to stay,
I'm sorry, I have no the other way.
To live, not just to survive.
I'm going other side, where I’m alive.
I'm flipping the switch, to the other side!
I'm flipping the switch, to the other side!
