The Mermaid and Me

I was alone, watching the sunset
seated on a line of rocks, not wet
Holding two small pieces of rock
and a pentel pen with me
I wrote a mark on the said rocks
  I found underneath me
And threw away the two pieces of rock
  in the nebulous, salty waters.
After a while, one small rock was thrown back
wrapped in algae with some lathers.
I stood up and picked it up
and walked on the same line of dry rocks
  where I sat earlier.
Another piece of rock thrown back --
the same piece of small rock I marked "4ever"
I looked around... up, left and right
  and saw no one.
A strong wind blew at my feet
and circled around my body of heat
When I looked down on the waters,
touching my head with my cold hand
I saw a smiling mermaid...
waving at me with a heart-shaped hand.
