The Sleeping Village

From the woolly blanket of stygian gloom, Sun has emerged beaming garishly bright. Bees buzz around flowers that bloom. Between the twilight gloom and the golden light, Earth looks like a maiden, just woken up from sleep. Joggers are out for their routine walk in rising zest. The village lies quiet, slumbering deep, Unruffled by the noise of treading feet And the beams of light that have begun to peep Nowhere can we sense the pulse of throbbing beat. Shops remain shut, farmers are yet to rise. There is no traffic moving along the winding street. No hustle, no bustle , only vacancy greets the eyes. From this stupor, the village will rise up soon. The quiet will cease and business will come to seize. Life will spring back in fervour from its cocoon. This place will be abuzz with sounds by early noon!
