Whatever This Is

I think you know where this is heading.

These were his words to me. The truth was I had no clue. How could I know?

Perhaps his tone was an indication. The undertone in his voice. His confidence that I somehow understood. There was something visceral about it. Something raw and inevitable.

Like fate was on automatic pilot and we were powerless in its tracks.
