Poetry Is What I Write

Proverbs 1:7 (KJV) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Knowing Him, is knowing hope
because He lives, I can always cope
trusting in His ways,
through all my gloomy days
remembering He is love, my heart sings
because I know the One who brings
darkness to light –
erasing the night
with beauty and grace,
feelings that erase
every sorrow and fear,
never leaving a tear
He is my life –
with Him, I know no strife

Because He holds the wind and seas
I always fall to my knees,
Breathing prayers for His love to shine
Through the lost and lonely pine,
Across forever, building a bridge to carry
Me through the past, the worries so scary
Soothing, comforting, delighting
Blending joy and peace so inviting

Where hope, faith and love come together
Remembering to listen through stormy weather,
Promising to believe the proverb who tells me
To fear the Lord – this is knowledge that can see
Fools despise wisdom and instruction, mistrusting
Uncertain, doubting every feeling He gives, disgusting
Those who know that only the Lord can bring love
To the hopeless, light to the darkness, joy from above

He shines His light into a dark and lonely realm
Remembering to silence doubts who overwhelm
He is light – He is grace – He is the understanding that comes
To the heart who listens to the joy and love that becomes
My reason for believing, the wisdom that sees me through
All the fears and tears, creating wonders my soul will pursue

With God, anything is possible
With God, a burned bridge is crossable
With God, I know the meaning of wise
Because of Him, my soul will soon arise
With God, there is only beauty and delight
Because of Him – poetry is what I write
