persuasion and region
must have their say

I watch and I watch
for hours on end
reminding myself
that this is all real

my mind in revolt
how can this be

watching the news
I watch people die
get brutalised and maimed

that here come the good bits

this death and destruction
this carnage and mayhem
this terrible war

they aired rainbows and butterflies
and flowers in bloom
I’d watch for a bit then just scroll on by
