That was then, this is now
"Play the audio is in accord with the dramatic monologue," ... by the Poet
The Broadwalk of somewhat life,
at a fair distance
unwinds to an inconsequential view.
A large Banyan tree
whose boughs burdened with burgeoning roots
dangling in the midst short of promised Earth
becomes insignificant.
Winter's hold,
for 'tis mid-January,
and understandably,
a shoreline is in quiet mode.
Between the shoreline and the Broadwalk,
and a few Bayan trees,
are wooden park benches
that scatter the length of it.
In the brisk briny sea air,
ere midday of a nearly deserted shoreline
halfway down where the land juts out to sea,
sits one brave soul.
And of course,
that would be me with my pen
already busily
near the end of this 'fine' morning.
Ah yes,
I need only to wait ...
the Sun has never shined ever brighter ...,
I know that I am being truly blessed,
for in the secular world,
it is time for an appointment,
yet in the Sun's glow,
it is merely a wink of anointing,
And in the wake of her glow
marks passages,
the slight brush of the wind
together with the Sun's warmth ...
Ah yes,
a deliverance is made,
like some long overdue letter ...
Finally the arrival ...
the presence of the delivery,
the whole "hold of it" be a ....
midsummer day's dream ...
Grace is in the billowing glows ...
a glorious blessing I am being accorded ...
the Sun,
Never was there a brighter and warmer Sun,
ohhh,
just ... just ...
if it is time,
just the "trice" of time...
let me hold onto the "e"
let me dangle like the Banyan tree roots
let me hold Heaven's gate ajar ...
and let us have our ... "THEN and NOW" ... be once more again ...
