It was just a glance, a spark that locked me in the prison of my thoughts
It was just a glance, a spark that locked me in the prison of my thoughts,
a hazy dream that repeats every night like the refrain of a lost soul,
never close, yet never far, you were a constellation illuminating every corner,
I found you in crowds and empty rooms, your face lived in every reflection of my gaze.
You were never truly there, but I was, feeling the vibration of your every smile,
in the silence of my tears was born the echo of longing, a symphony of silent suffering,
you remained a stranger, an unsolved enigma, I unraveled like a dream at dawn,
you never saw me, but I built sandcastles around an ephemeral smile.
Sometimes I laugh at myself, other times my eyes betray my heart like windows to a hidden world,
it wasn't love, but just a search for meaning on a distant, illusory horizon,
a labyrinth of the soul in which I got lost seeking you, seeking myself.
The deepest pain is not that you left, but knowing you were just a mirage,
a dance of shadows on the wall of my soul, leaving behind an eternal void,
an echo of a presence that was never real, but burned like a falling star.
