My short and sweet bed time story for you! - Len Gasun's Blog

Hello, my dear poet friends! It's still November and as we all know, it's the month of "All Souls". So, I want to share with you a short story.

       Last night, I had a nightmare. It was not a scary one but it really made me feel so bad to the point that I cried and struggled to wake up. I was so thankful that my dad ( who passed away almost two years now) woke me up. Unbelievable but he carried me lovingly on his arms like when I was still his little girl, his little darling sunshine. He asked me if I felt cold. When I refused to answer and just shook my head, he held me tightly and shook me until I awoke. Albeit the things my dad did were still part of that dream, I was so thankful that he came to my rescue; otherwise, I had the difficulty of waking up. When I woke up, I thank him in profuse tears of joy.
 
      This dream had given me an idea of running my next contest with a theme, "Waking up from a nightmare." If you have a nightmare or unpleasant experience, then you can write a poem about it. You also share what had happened after waking up and what/who woke you up. Please go and read carefully the rules of this contest. Thank you very much and enjoy!
