Wonderful Haiku Harry, It's been snowing here for the past three days. Finally stopped this aft. Really cold out and a biting wind. February is usually the coldest month but March is right around the corner. Things will start to get better then. I hope. Then again, this is Alberta and our weather is very changeable. God Bless and a 7 from me. JB

What an image. Both glorious and frightening at the same time! So much life reflected, yet death could so easily occur on these frozen "mere"s. Excellent Haiku, Harry!

I've been to the Yorkshire moors in summer, Harry, though I did not come across Ilkley Tarn. I'll have to look it up and see if it fits the picture which I'm forming in my mind. #7 // paul

Does mere hold a local meaning? I love the imagery. Jan's suggestion that you are talking of the moors sounds like just the place I imagine.

Harry, the last few nights it has been cold in Florida and we're felt that "biting cold" by the sea. I can see the comparison to life as we have to endure all types of weather along our journeys. Excellent haiku! Hugs, Carolyn

Harry, I know absolutely nothing about short form poetry. I came , I read, I left this note. Thank you for visiting me Harry. All I can do is read the comments and say it must be great:)

A 7 for your vivid description in so few syllables, Harry. I've never been good at haiku and appreciate those who are. Janice
