Little Girl Once Lost

My fingers trace your silhouette, all I have is a shadow of you. Sensitive shoulders that held me up in my mind forever I choose. A child naïve, empty and alone, without a father who left to roam. I was once your little girl Daddy, till that fateful day when you said goodbye to Mummy, oh, how it did rain. But years have moved on I’m your little girl no longer, but my heart needs to reach out to you, to tell of your grandson who needs his grandpa, and not an ancient photograph forever fading, unlike my memory of you.

So melancholy and touching, great imagery, like 'a shadow of you' and 'I'm your little girl/no longer' - shows how even as we become adults, we still need the connection to that parental figure from our past ~

I can feel her longing for her baby's grandpa. Emotive write--splendidly done, Harry.
