A Wish

"I Wish"

I wish I could blow air into your little lungs,
The day my daughter brought your stillborn body into this world.
Hold your little body warm,
And tell my little girl you have her cute little nose...
Count your little fingers, and kiss your little toes...

I wish,
I could look into your daring eyes,
Facing a little boy, who's ready for this world
I wish,
I could tell my daughter you have her beautiful brown eyes...
Sadly, it’s not like that.
How can I tell my daughter everything will be all right?
When a piece of my heart was stolen with her's,
When giving birth to her son, my grandson
March 25, 2013---- How it Hurts!
~~~
O’ how I wish, you entered this world crying
Instead, we're the ones left in tears of sorrow
~~~
How I wish you could be,
And not this feeling you left inside
How I wish, God could explain why o' why?
I wish I could find the reasons now, and not wait until I die.

Mostly, I WISH Mommy could fix this.

Heartbreaking indeed. Somethings we will just not know until later. Life goes on and so does love for those who left before we did. Jon

I can relate to this poem, because my Mom lost a baby which would have been a sister or a brother to me. So, I will always be an only child. This poem is very powerful and deeply emotional. One of those poems that tugs at the heart-strings. I admire your courage for writing about such a painful subject. Well done, Linda...Thank you for all of the kind comments. They are much appreciated! :)

Dear Linda,,I lost my baby, too...I still feel numb and not sure if I can talk about my experience yet so openly as you did in this poem...but, there's no hurry..I will write it one day as time goes well and ever slowly I feel once again..thanks, friend..

Genuine emotions here...and that is not always apparent in poetry. The reader feels what you feel. That is an achievement of singular importance! -Dean

You have the biggest heart. He' will never take the larger part. One in a million could write this as tender as you have done. Tears fall for now, you must wait, but trust me, he will be there and you will be as one. Prayers

As I read through your magnificent list of poems, I am grieved by the pain you mut have felt through this tragic event. I can't imagine the sorrow but you have found it within you to make this child well known to the world through your grief. You are a warrior of the arts.

Now I understand your often pessimistic view of life. Your sorrow is true and convincing. I cry with you for this painful event. The poem is beautyful, in your poetry you can find the force to continue your splendid life and look at the future. I and all soupers are with you in this itinerary.

Very emotional words and believe me I feel your pain. It is so hard to try and comfort your own child when both of you have such pain. It is pain you need to go through in each others arms. Very sad. Betty - Hugs to you.
