Navigate

A captain will navigate his ship
keeping it safe for his men.
A pilot will navigate his plane
for his passengers.
Like the ship's captain and the airline pilot,
we also navigate daily.
We navigate our life,
from sunup to sunset.
Yes~we are the captain or pilot of our life.
That is a very powerful thought,
but we are.
We can say yes or no at anytime.
One can make a change or stay on the same course.
There are only twenty-four in a day,
yet some seem to get more done than others.
Why is that,
could some be able to navigate their life better.
I find life comes with many questions,
yet with few answers along the way
Navigate your life the best you can,
as a captain docks your ship or as a pilot lands your plane.

Your poem reminds me of the dynamic poem, Invictus; I am the captain of my fate and the master of my soul, also Nelson Mendal's favorite poem. Wonderful allegory, Robert

Great write, we all are different are we not? I think your choice of Navigate, is right on the money for the contest. The hardest thing for me to do is stop comparing myself to others. Finally, doing is not what’s life’s about. It’s about being real, with or without the approval of others. Though the world seeks approval far more than excellence… Pangie xo
