My biography will be very limited for now.   Here , I can express myself in poetic form but in real life I much rather prefer to be far less forward  I am a 60 year old American citizen , born and raised in the glorious South! A heritage that I am very proud of and thank God for as it is a blessing indeed ~

Currently married to my beautiful young wife(Riza) a lovely filipina  lady and we have a fantastic 7 year old son, Justin ~

I have truly lived a very wild life as a younger man but now find myself finally very happily settled down for the duration of my life~

I decided to rest here and express myself with hopes that it may in some way help others, for I see here a very diverse  and fine gathering of poets, artists, and caring folks~

Quickly finding friends here that amaze me with such great talent~~

I invite any and all to comment on my writes and send me soup mail to discuss

whatever seems important to them ~

New poetry form.

Blog Posted:5/5/2019 6:33:00 AM

Early Morn On The Old Farm

tomcat cat fast asleep
new house painted darkest of greens
old sun drenched, low-weeping willow
young black dog awakens
eager dawn, stretches its new legs
(1.) (living scene), no rhyme

Robert J. Lindley, 3-17-2000
Poetry form,  Lind68868

New poetry form Lind68868

New poetry form: Must describe either 1. a living scene (one that is poetically possible to see), 2. a comparative thought, 3. or a dream.
Poem must list which of the three- this example is number 1.
Poem must have a Title
Syllable count must be 6,8,8,6,8
Must be 5 lines of verse.
May be rhymed or written with no rhyme

Yesterday, I found 6 of these poems in this new poetry form I created,  written on a single page in one of my old poetry journals.

*****************************************

Edit, 5-05-2019

Note: Adding this second poem as an example..

Life That Gives Such Sweet Blessings

her toys spread all about
Christmas tree, shining lights aglow
winter snow spread as a blanket
new morn, its gifts divine
laughter as she enters the room
(1.) (living scene), no rhyme

Robert J. Lindley, 12-17-2000
Poetry form,  Lind68868

(This one is

*****************************************

Edit- Another example- composed today.

Pray I, This Is No Dream

she in her sexy skirt
my Dodge Charger, its baby blue
summer sun, beach sand burning hot
laughing, sunning, kissing
red rose, her soft, inviting lips
(3.) ( A dream), no rhyme

Robert J. Lindley, 5-05-2019
Poetry form, Lind68868, no rhyme
Poetic reply, dedicated to Sassy's fine poem.

This one is ,

Edit:

Thirsting For Water From A Deep Well

can Love hold this expanse
art painted into life's worn trails
sweet dreams casting passion's might
reality, decay
sad futility of false hope

Robert J. Lindley, 5-09-2019
New Poetry form, Lind68868
(2.) (a comparative thought), no rhyme

23 words
36 syllables
141 characters

Note: I was asked to write and provide a poem using number (2.) choice-
(a comparative thought). This is my interpretation using that and quenching
a bit of my own poetic thirst.

****************************************

EDIT, 5-15-2019.....

This, Tragic As A Shakespeare Play,
Lind68868 Rhyme, Not For Contest

heartache, she went away
pain gnawing knowing, this was it
we had said all there was to say
my bottom lip I bit
this, tragic as a Shakespeare play

Robert J. Lindley, 5-15-2019
Lind68868, (Rhyme)
Example (1.) a living scene written in - Rhyme.

29 words
36 syllables
146 characters

Note-- Not for any contest, but given as an example of the new poetry form when done in, Rhyme..
A living scene,(not a dream) or (a comparative thought)because I experienced exactly that with the end of my first marriage.. Sad but true my friends...
Note- I had to class this as a *Rhyme*, because Soup has no listing for my new poetry form, Lind68868.
I recommend using for syllable count verification this the best one on the internet.

Thank you my friend. This new form allows for me more depth, color, creativity, thought and imagination than does a haiku. And it better fits western thought, expressed in the English language .
Date: 5/8/2019 2:42:00 AM
Hi Robert, you certainly have the gift of getting the best out of poets, and poetry! Certainly, I feel inspired to try this form you have created. Sensational vignettes, robust yet delicate, springs to mind- Excellent idea of Dear Heart using it for a contest! Each example is set apart in it's imagery and impact on the reader, even within its structure. I have been looking for a slightly get form than haiku, which I do enjoy writing, and I think this is it! Warm regards and Poetry HUGS!

Thank you my friend. Always a blessing to have such positive feedback and see the kindness in poetry fellowship that stirs the poetic fever to create. To give words that may in some way be beneficial to those that read, write and so deeply and truly enjoy the magnificent Art of Poetry.
Date: 5/6/2019 6:44:00 PM
I like the new form and the first poem is my favorite. I like the contrast between the young and old, the imagery that is used to represent these, the dawn, the weeping willow, etc.

Thank you my friend. There is a lot of leeway regardless if one chooses to use themes number 1, 2 or 3. Or either rhyme, no rhyme..
Date: 5/6/2019 5:29:00 PM
Robert, I like these. Have you named this type? Also, do you have an example of "a comparative thought" you could also add as an example as this one is a consternation to me.

Thank you my friend. Yes, have named it- the Lind68868. And Dear Heart has stated to use it in the next contest she sponsors. I much appreciated honor given me..
Date: 5/6/2019 5:25:00 AM
Robert, these are lovely; I especially like the 1st and 3rd ones, as I do love a lot of nature poetry. A bit of a challenging form; wonderfully created. I almost bought a Dodge Charger once.

When words linger upon the page, a poem is born. Emotions written from the heart, and of course moments that caress reality. Hopes and dreams. The list is endless, it seems. :) I like what you have written here. This form of poetry. The idea of it being Rhymed or not Rhymed. Thank you for sharing Robert. My best to you. ~ Brandy

Lower case just mean no capitalization of the first word of a verse. Not hard at all my friend. All three of my examples given in my blog, show it is not hard. Thank you for commenting and your inquiry. God bless...
Date: 5/5/2019 2:11:00 PM
Robert, I really like the form you have created, makes me want to write one. I like the use of the lower case letters and the non-punctuation and the option of rhyme or not. I think this would be great for a contest! Would you consider doing a contest of this form? If not I would be happy to sponsor a contest using it, imagine the beautiful poems that would be created. You call it Lind68868 ?

Thank you my friend, I replied, now earlier, see it has disappeared. Yes it is a short form to capture a moment, a scene, a thought and/or a dream. And not be too long yet give room for greater depth, beauty, color and creativity. I am truly delighted that you found it so my friend.. God bless....

Thank you my friend... Feel free my friend, to sponsor a contest using this my short poetry form Lind68868, it would be an honor to see the many fine poets here and the wonderful creative and beautiful poems they would surely give birth to writing using it. I would even volunteer to help you judge if you wanted me to..

Thank you my friend. Yes, the concept is to capture a moment, scene ,dream or thought in time. With the given restrictions keeping the length short-but perhaps long enough to allow for depth, greater imagery and immense beauty! Te last was written today, my reply to my friend Sassy ,that wrote a great poem using this poetry form. I am hoping she writes another one soon.
Date: 5/5/2019 1:22:00 PM
It's fun to come up with something new of our own like this to show our poetic thoughts. a good style for capturing a moment in time, Robert. the last one was quite the wonderful dream!
