As Saturated Earth Bids Me Adieu

As Saturated Earth Bids Me Adieu As saturated earth bids me adieu Angry moon spat out darken, molded cheese There, prisoner in chains, thinking of you My evil captors doing what they please. Wicked lateral cuts gracing my arms Damn cratered knots all over my head That gypsy sold me a bag of dark charms He was hoping that soon I would be dead. What a trip to the old dark continent Now I understand what warnings were about Those ignored, thinking my shield was resilient I went to scream but hell nothing came out. What was this beast rising from the bare ground Its immense strength and power off the charts Its vicious roar, such a terrifying sound Evil lair, I saw bloody body parts! Next I recall, a voice said its a dream You my sleeping friend, rise from your night bed I will aid you, we will fight as a team You and I shall slay the black beast instead. Off damn alarm goes, nothing decided. Could not use ray gun I was provided. Robert J. Lindley, 22 Dark verse rhyme. April 21st , 1972 Note: "I wage battles in my ballooning head My soul, its venom so gaily spilled In my first vow, I kill dark beasts instead Lost count, must have been a thousand I killed." RJL

Oh I really enjoyed this dark write Robert. It really drew me in. That is the way of dreams, is it not? Nothing truly resolved and leaves the mind wondering and wandering with fodder for writing. :)

And what a trip it is to the old dark continent! A stunning write on the obscure clouds sometimes minds roil in and occupy our lives. You defy them all with your expert response scripted gallantly.

Thank you, my good friend. At that very young age, I always wrote very fast. Verses would come to that young brain and I let the ink fly. I never was one for very much editing back then. I would finish a quick poem or two in one writing session, read then over once and let them lay as was. I guess kinda lazy back then, at times but the poems were most often good as I first inked them. God bless you my friend. Thanks for your own very fine poetry I read...

This is dark and deep and an insight into your mind back in 1972.. I was not even born, as wasnt my friend the empress of ink... You have alway been a talented poet and can see that from this poem.. your use of vocabulary as always gives your poetry and edge and is full of emotions..

Thank you, my very good friend. Yes, I am 69 years old and having been composing poetry since age of 15 years. Fifty-four years and I am still learning. I was just 18 years old when I wrote this one. I was very tempted to edit it a bit but decided not to do so. Just let it remain as is from an eighteen year old mind. God bless you..

I absolutely love and admire the way you weave metaphors, imagery and use such powerful diction to convey exactly your thoughts and emotions in such an eloquent manner. I love the rhymes they are so captivating and unique and not the usual rhymes we see . Very artistic. And the darkness you’ve depicted here is so vivid and soul hitting. Powerful write really enjoyed reading

Well thank you very much my good friend. Sometimes the verses just come to me out of thin air, coming really fast. other times I struggle for a single word for hours. However, after 54 years of composing, it gets easier. God bless you.
