The Truth of Love and Its Awesome Powers

The Truth Of Love And Its Awesome Powers

Oft when dusk
crawls on in
its smells as
freshly rotten leaves
to some
its dark
its power is
a wonderful joy
as in those
hearts that
air spells
its
wickedness and
evils
sing....

But as shadows arrive
and their
powers
display
this heart
sends up
its wise
alert flags
and cries
man
the fort lad
for battles
will be waged....

As
twinkling star
spit down
rays of speeding
lights
some hearts
finds pleasure
and joy
for the darkness
it destroys
and the mind
sees
ravishing beauty
in the glowing
Heavens above...

Viewing such wonders
this soul
asks
our God
if the future
true love
shall be given
and then heart
says
sure it will
just be patient
and all
shall one day
shall come
hold fast
walk straight
and wait...

as I lay
seeing
galaxies dancing
in the sky
I imagine a
goddess
who will my
hand take

kiss me as a
lover and never
ever
leave me
our dawns
will see nothing
but love
and her beautiful
face
we live for each
other
and two hearts are
as one
bodies entwined
and love's
amazing, magical
and awesome
powers
absorbed...

In your twilight hours when you are left alone, the thoughts of love comes soothing and you dream of the endearing presence of your lover when on everyday you live a life of love and love alone with your sweet goddess. To some love is dark, but to some others it is true light. It is equally heart warming , but can turn heart rending too.Let your love stay bright and soothing always. A lovely poem dear Robert.

Thank you, my good friend. Yes, we have love in our memories too. I had those 17 fantastic years with my beautiful beloved wife Riza. She is passed away now but our memories last, and we have our son Justin. So the blessing continues onward. God bless you my good friend.

My dear friend, indeed love has awesome powers both exquisite and excruciating. Your poem both weeps and rejoices in the mire and magic of love. This poem is a rich gem from your treasure trove of older poems. Robert, I adore these soulful facets of your poetic past. The ending of this piece reminds me of the appreciation you had for finding your beloved Angel. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Thank you, my very good friend. Yes, truth is I had an amazing youthful past. It came complete with epic heartaches and fantastic love too. I guess that I fell in love so deeply was because of my immensely poetic heart. And what is a blessing can be turned into a massive heartache. But I survived the bad and finally for 17 years I had the good, the fabulously great. Now Fate took that away. God bless you. Robert

Robert, in case I've never told you, I am so pleased that you kept your earlier poetry and willing to share the treasures of your lines with everyone here. You don't need flowery kudos to know how much I appreciate your poetic talent. We go far back and share mutual respect.

Thank you, my good friend. And also true we do share mutual respect. Your poetry is poetry that comes from a very fine and top class, true poet! And that these days that truly is a very rare commodity, imho. God bless you.

Thank you, my friend. So well said. At that time it certainly brought many tears from me. As my wife broke my heart over a dozen times. The drugs won her over. I could take no more of her disappearing acts. She would take off to do her drugs. God bless you.

It's really such a matter of wonder, how love can bring different forms of transformations and atmospheres for different individuals. True love never comes easy and first, we always drown in the onyx raging waves of heartbreaks or betrayals.. Trying to sail through life and yearning for a heart to hold the fragments of our souls. The ending lines of this poem are just so beautiful and palpable, in fact this whole piece is a FAV for me.. So beautifully crafted!

Thank you, my good friend. I was just 20 years old when I composed this one.. And during that time my wife and I were broke up, separated. We got back together after 6 weeks. She had a drug addiction that caused us much grief, ended up 2 years later we divorced. I did love her with my all. But to no avail, she loved her drugs more. Quite sad. I divorced her even tho' I loved her.
