Whilst Walking Through the Woods

Whilst walking through the woods one day
A crystal brook there, shone so gay
The sun was shining oh' so bright
As brook reflected all it's light

Buzzing insects all around
Oh' they made a delightful sound
Birds flew upwards to the sky
These parrots made a hue and cry

Carpet of flowers with lovely scent
It seemed this morn way heaven sent
The flowers opened to the sun
This walk for me was so much fun

Sheep bleated from far away
Oh it was such a lovely day

Just lovely Vera... I am a nature's child myself, and enjoy walking dogs or riding horses in the woods. And I am always thankful for beautiful days such as you have so eloquently described here :) (except for the insects haha!)

I enjoyed reading your sonnet this morning..It made me think of spring which is still a couple of months away where I live..It helped me live spring's atmosphere while in the midst of deep freeze..Sara

Lindsay thank you so much for the comment, I guess you are an Aussie as well so we would say walking through the bush but same, same, trouble is our bush over here keeps disappearing, so many houses going up, such a shame, quite often Peter and I do escape down South and find the bush, take care my friend.......Vera............

Vera it seems that you and Peter both have a way about writting about the beauty of nature, enjoyed reading this poem, it was simply lovely a delight to read, thanks for your comment on my polar cubs and yes I agree it was a sad poem to write, but I was very sad that day, and then I watched a discovery channel special about the polar bears and I was off with this to write about my inpirational write of these poor little cubs, cheri
