Her Name Was Jasmine and Her Beauty So Divine

Her Name Was Jasmine And Her Beauty So Divine Her name was Jasmine and her beauty so divine Her voice was a picture of mountain majesty Soft melody and sweet words kissed ear so fine Me to stand back, not ask her out, a travesty. I was on fluffy cloud nine when she said her yes Did not bother me that it was not a clear match Jessie said, yep, she felt sorry for you I guess She gets good look at you, she close door, hit the latch. I gave flowers and sweetest kisses in the morn Cook her waffles and my special bacon and eggs Gave God thanks, asked Gabriel to blow his horn I was Romeo when to Juliet he begs! She would call me her darling and her handsome prince. Never heard such honey-baked words ever since. Robert J. Lindley, March 7th, 1972 Sonnet 1st note- '""Gabriel"" ""A Gabriel's horn (also called Torricelli's trumpet) is a type of geometric figure that has infinite surface area but finite volume. The name refers to the Christian tradition where the archangel Gabriel blows the horn to announce Judgment Day."" 2nd Note: In youth we face many challenges, love being a very big one..

I always loved the name Jasmine. Wish I had a little girl by that name. Anyway, sweet love sonnet. Btw, my bacon and eggs are better. Ha!

No better form than Sonnet to adorn the love of a Romeo for Juliet--and no better writer than you, Robert, who can weave words of love into ballet of romance. A FAVE for these gems of memories, my friend.

Thank you, my good friend. It indeed was a true and massive love I had for her. And according to her it was the same for her. I just was not willing to move to California. I begged her to finish college here but she said no. She loved the college she was at and had tons of friends there. Many times in the years afterward I wished I'd have moved there. Youth, one never knows what life will bring. God bless you..

Your love must have been as beautiful as her name indicates, Robert, and her honey-baked words must have been a treat out of this world! A pity that circumstances do not always collaborate with our plans! ~ Best regards & Blessings, my friend // paul

Paul my good friend, how have you been!?? I trust well and happy. Yes it was quite tragic how it ended up. I took about 5 months to get over it enough to resume a somewhat normal life again. Even then, it was 6/7 months more for me to actually have fun doing anything. Hard lesson but it steeled me for the future. God bless.

This is such a bittersweet poem.. Depicts how one was so magically and fully in love with the other.. But, not everything turns as planned, there are twists and turns, when our love is taken for granted.. The description about her name Jasmine and her voice, made it all so beautiful.. I admire how you've described that one thanked God for giving him such a blessing.. Whilst there was more to come.. Something, not so pleasing as shown in the end. Love the Romeo and Juliet reference too, here..

You are absolutely correct my friend. As I was indeed magically in love with her. The hard lesson was learned. God bless you....

Thank you, my good friend. Your observations and analysis hits very high marks. I was inadequate in describing her beauty, as she was far more beautiful than my puny words could paint. I have oft looked back with regret about that refusal to move to California to be with her. God bless you.

I was romeo when to juliet he begs. I loved that line: jasmine, a beautiful name and flower, how poetically and artistically youve also described her voice and her. I also love your rhymes they are so sublime and captivating: you really are good at them sonnets. Soothing and soul warming

She married a year later, even mailed me an invitation. But I did not go. You know= it still hurt.. I was not mad at her, I thought in was good of her to send it.

Thank you, very much my good friend. I was indeed a full- fledged romantic in my youth, hell I guess I still am at heart. Truth is she was a rare person, so beautiful and kind. She went back to California to college and I was not willing to move there. We broke up and I sat depressed for a couple months, then resumed my life, but I've never forgot her. God bless you.

Thank you, my good friend. I loved her with my all but that was not enough for her. She wanted more. I had no more! Life can be strange like that in relationships. God bless you.
