Song Birds
She twirls to the soft rhythm in her head
far away from the cares of the day.
Outside her window a family of birds
waits for mother Robin with mouths open.
Her eyes now full of their beauty open;
temperament, once dull, alters in her head.
She discovers a new fondness for birds.
What would she dance to the rest of the day?
The wind and night sky soon turned into day,
as she prays for the locked door to open.
She kisses the glass, whispers to the birds,
there is so much joy for life in her head.
The song birds sing, their music's in her head;
she opens to the days anthem of grace.
