Byron, Your Poetry Sings To Our Wanting Hearts

Byron, Your Poetry Sings To Our Wanting Hearts He gave us images, the raving beauty far within and romantic dancing words that ate up the eager page he met the world head on and absorbs into his white skin Ahh but, a great calamity he dies at a young age. In dreams I see him, singing great poems all dressed to kill His countenance, that of a handsome prince on a new lark Yet when reading his poetry, don't you get such a thrill Man was a poetic genius, certainly left his mark. That of great beauty, his life's tragedy, death far too young Verses he sang to us, such true and deep pleasures they gave And those magical words, translated into many tongues O' the deep truth, millions of readers read and then they rave. Lord Byron, your words have often soothed desirous souls. Poets honor you and take your deep accomplishments our goals. Robert J. Lindley, Sonnet June 10th, 1971 Note: Lord Byron is one of the top three Romantic poets- Byron , Keats and Shelley. I have often mused which was the greatest poet among those three. At different times in my life I have decided each one as the greatest. And now I favor Keats...

Good Morning Robert. Hello. What a beautiful and appropriate tribute and celebration of Lord Byron. Allow me to further say if I haven't said it before you excel at sonnets. Where would we be today if not for the poets who came before us. Thank you for sharing. It was a pleasure turning to your page. Have a wonderful morning and week. Keep enjoying poetry. Blessings always (smile)

Thank you, my friend. Byron has for 50 years been one of my top ten poets. He was indeed a poetic genius. So very sad that he died at such a young age! The world suffered a great loss with his death him being so young. I felt it reading his magic words at my age of 15 years old back then. God bless..

A wonderful sonnet dear Robert. I share your interest in the three great romantic poets. They were all fascinating and all died tragically young. I’m much more impressed at times by the good old, golden days rather than contemporary poetry or art itself. I love classic literature. I hope to attempt a sonnet in the future and shall look to you for inspiration.Thank you for sharing. Blessings my friend to the golden days.

What do you think about Oscar Wilde Robert? He’s one of my heroes. I adore,’ The Picture Of Dorian Grey’ - one of my favourites. I loved his witty, observational humour. Have you read any of his poems/plays etc?

Thank you, my good friend. With your ability, you can do very well composing sonnets. In my 50 years writing I know that I have composed a few hundreds of them...Romantic poets , those three are great to read/study. I have a hard time making up my mind which one was the best poet. As in the past I have changed my mind several times on that. God bless you.

This poem reflects the essence of a poet, having a golden heart and golden pen, Robert. You possess the unique ability to articulate the profound depths of affection and emotion just as Lord Bayron did.

Thank you, my friend. I learned a lot in my studies of that famous poet. I write in my own way without trying to copy the poet but instead trying to speak to that poet's heart. It seems that has indeed worked well for me. God bless you.

I believe i did study some of his work in literature, when i did literature, but its been many years and i think i should read again, what a heartfelt tribute this is, and poetic genius definitely is. I do like keats too, i think is a deep poet but my favorite poet that truly inspired me to write poetry, is shakespeare, .. his poems and his many plays and stories. I can see and feel your appreciation for good poetry through this tribute too. Stay blessed always

Yes my friend, please do read other famous poets. As it sinks into your brain subconsciously what they write and do. I think my heart learn more reading them than it did with my conscious efforts to honor it. I know it has raised me a few levels in my poetry quest. God bless, you.

Thank you, my good friend. Yes, Shakespeare has inspired millions and his plays are fantastic works of Art as well. I also always lump Byron, Keats and Shelley together . As they were labelled the Romantic poets of that time. And each one was a poetic genius. Today far too many shun the golden poets of old--for what? Modern poets that have far, far less talent, imho. God bless you.
