My biography will be very limited for now.   Here , I can express myself in poetic form but in real life I much rather prefer to be far less forward  I am a 60 year old American citizen , born and raised in the glorious South! A heritage that I am very proud of and thank God for as it is a blessing indeed ~

Currently married to my beautiful young wife(Riza) a lovely filipina  lady and we have a fantastic 7 year old son, Justin ~

I have truly lived a very wild life as a younger man but now find myself finally very happily settled down for the duration of my life~

I decided to rest here and express myself with hopes that it may in some way help others, for I see here a very diverse  and fine gathering of poets, artists, and caring folks~

Quickly finding friends here that amaze me with such great talent~~

I invite any and all to comment on my writes and send me soup mail to discuss

whatever seems important to them ~

Notice to one and all...

Notice to one and all:
Because I feel, and do so with just cause, that there exists a bias, an animus
in regards to my notes attached to my poems, as well as my giving dates
that show my works from many decades past, I have decided to stop presenting notes
and dates on my much older poems. I am indeed sorry for those that have often commented
about enjoying this added information but I do see that pattern and it rightly concerns me as a poet.
From this date forth, that added information will no longer be given, except in private messaging,if asked by any of my dear friends here.
I will now only present a date of origin on poems written currently, all others will show no date.
Show no background information. Thank you for reading this and I hope you understand.
I have written poetry prolifically now for over 48 years and have a vast number of poems in my private journals. Seems some here resent that abundance, why I have no clue..

Geeezzz Robert!! I have no clue either! Hard to understand indeed. You are a great poet and I'm sure everyone knows it and who cares "when" a poem was written?? And, as far as background info is concerned, I think it's been very interesting. I'm so sorry you have been subjected to such negative vibes. Love you....Carole :D

Thank you my dear friend. Your support and your friendship are indeed wonderful blessings to me. I shall continue to add dates, notes and etc, as I have always done. The many great poets expressing that as a positive, informative and enjoyable aspect all have now convinced me to not change my way of posting my poetry.
Date: 12/2/2018 9:14:00 PM
I have a ton of poems on backlog, as well. I know some think it's right to just put up the poem but, I don't believe that a few comments or notes matter. People can still read and comment on the poem itself and that is what we're all here for. Then too, it is your poetry so, whatever you feel needs to be added, should not warrant negative comments from others. You're quite good at writing poetry so you've earned the privilege of doing it your way. Just be true to yourself.

Thank you for words of wisdom on this matter my friend. I have decided after reading so many fine poets expressing their like of my notes and how I should not change my original way of presenting my poems- with that advice in mind, I have decided to to ignore the the scathing ridicule given me and do as I have always done. Present my poems as I did before.
Date: 12/2/2018 10:01:00 AM
Thank you one and all. You have been very gracious, kind, thoughtful and fully expressing in my opinion - true poetic spirit in your comments and wise advice given to me. In fact, I have just posted my Part Two to my, "Death First Knocks, Fear Then Enters, Plea Given" poem- with dates and notes included. Thank you all, my friends.

Robert, Please do your poetry the way you wish, if someone has a problem with your notes then there are hundreds of other poets on this site they can read...never compromise your art...never bend to those without understanding of your reasons or purpose...it's your poetry and your information...I'm with Andrea...ignore

Thank you my great friend. I shall completely ignore that such negativity and attack has taken place. I had no idea that my notes and dates attached to my writings were that appreciated and important to others. These many positive , supporting comments have revealed to me they are. Just finding how many great poets have commented positively shows what a great site and group of poets present their fine work here.
Date: 12/1/2018 9:21:00 AM
Robert , I Have no idea why you are being bullied or by who. I put notes over some of my poems and nobody has ever said anything to me about that. I just can't imagine what kind of person cares about dates on our poems or what we say in the note section . Good grief! Just ignore these kinds of people.

(2) Since there are not moderators here continually monitoring the content, we have the right to do that ourselves on our own work. I react with poems like I would with my child, and if they're mistreated in any way, I'll do something about it, (though I love and encourage honest and kind critique). Make NO apologies, my friend, and treat that wonderful work like the treasure it IS, and the treasure YOU are to US. I had a nasty comment just two days ago and couldn't believe it, (because it was just hateful), so I deleted it and reported the "poet" ... I will always do similar, not only for my sake, but for the integrity of this wonderful site and its good people. (continued)

(1) Robert, my good friend, you are a class act and a wonderful poet, and I love the extra info and background, and hope you reconsider. I look at this the way I do Facebook - it is YOUR page, and your right to do with AS YOU WISH, do not cow-tow to the people who (obviously) resent and are jealous of your talent. If someone doesn't like the extra enjoyment that you provide, well, then they don't have to READ it. And if YOU don't like their inconsiderate, petty comments, then you have the right to delete them, because that kind of negativity is not needed here. This is a site for growth and friendship and encouragement. (continued).

Dear Robert, your poetry is from the heart. Never let anyone judge your words. Ever!! Continue to be You, to post like you always have. Many wonderful blessings to you. I hope you are doing well. I know you are dealing with some health issues. I am praying for you, and for everyone here. On a side note- concerning negativity here. Positive thoughts reflect positive, and negative produces negative. Once again. thank you for being here Robert, and being You. ~ Brandy

Can we all just agree to ignore the negative comments and maybe they will go away? I enjoy knowing the background of a poem as I'm sure others do also. I am often silent and stay in the background on this site except to support the poets whose work is meaningful to me. I know we can't read everything but I do find something to like in every poem I read. Positive comments only, please.

Such is commendable my friend and in a perfect world would be the norm. Should be no reason for anybody to private message to insult another about the way they choose to present their poetry. Saying everybody has grown tired of it and it is presumptuous of me to do so. My concern was for the possibility that such was true. Now after reading these many messages of support , I see the insulting message sent me for what it truly is.

I am in absolute shock at the level of concern, caring and truly great comments made by so many top poets here! I had no clue that my notes had such importance to any others here other than that of to myself. This outpouring is both very humbling and tremendously inspiring! To me, truly revealing of the top class poets we have at this site.. I truly thank you one and all. You are all, indeed true and awesome poets in heart, mind and souls in my opinion.

Robert, I have had the opportunity to work with children at the elementary and high school because of my love of poetry. I have always advised them to save their writings as "time capsules" to be revisited as windows into moments captured. Your notes often give historical and emotional perspective into your writings and engender a subtle rustling of a need to re-read the poem. So, whatever your decision make it yours, not theirs.

Robert, consider the slippery slope. If you allow the Haters to change the above mentioned behaviors, what else will you allow? What to write on? How to write it? How often? This may sound strange, but the Haters can serve many purposes. Evoking the support of your friends in this blog is one. Love the Haters and learn how to exploit them.

That's because I have a great veneration for you Robert as a grand soul, forged by life and accepts nothing but appreciating and living life in your very terms, and as a poet of high calibre.. I spill a few words because I don't want to give much heed to issues that let one make strides and miles backward! A beautiful, insightful and receptive soul as you are, blessed with gifts, talents and powers would always strive to reach the highest levels of Harmony and beauty in Life.. Your inward harmony I do feel in your poetry and gems.. keep shining in the beauty of Love, light and harmony. My deepest regards. Stay blessed always.

Robert! Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet, "To thine own self be true." As a poet, you are entitled to note anything you wish, and if ANYONE doesn't like a glimpse of what you offer they don't have to read you. What you add in your notes gives the reader a chance to peek inside the window of the man you were and the man you are now. It also serves as a record of your life, and personally, I admire you for sharing the information. There is NO just cause for you to omit your notes, especially not at the behest of twits!

Dear Robert, this sounds absurd. I hope you will reconsider and present your poetry in the exact precise way you prefer. YOU ARE UNIQUE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Bullies are entitled to their opinions. And we really don't care because WE have opinions of our own and these don't matter any more or any less than theirs. PLEASE... Take a stand and DO IT YOUR WAY.
