My Biography is Coming Soon...

My biography will be very limited for now.   Here , I can express myself in poetic form but in real life I much rather prefer to be far less forward  I am a 60 year old American citizen , born and raised in the glorious South! A heritage that I am very proud of and thank God for as it is a blessing indeed ~

Currently married to my beautiful young wife(Riza) a lovely filipina  lady and we have a fantastic 7 year old son, Justin ~

I have truly lived a very wild life as a younger man but now find myself finally very happily settled down for the duration of my life~

I decided to rest here and express myself with hopes that it may in some way help others, for I see here a very diverse  and fine gathering of poets, artists, and caring folks~

Quickly finding friends here that amaze me with such great talent~~

I invite any and all to comment on my writes and send me soup mail to discuss

whatever seems important to them ~

Poetry And Honor, Should Go Hand In Hand, Yes/No?

Blog Posted:2/17/2020 9:28:00 AM

What is honor? Is it a hollow well, an ancient concept,
that one denies should exist?
Or is a foundation block of which a true poet must possess?
Should a poet think of honor as an important part of poetry
and thus faithfully incorporate such into their own artistic
and heartfelt renderings?

A poet bears immensity of burden that casting great truth brings
Be it sorrowsome sorrows or symphonies of love that angels sing,
Let thy blood flow illuminating red from deep weeping poet-veins
sending Truth and Light without begging of selfish futile gains.

Manly Honor: Part I — What Is Honor?

This article series is now available as a professionally formatted, distraction free ebook to read offline at your leisure. Click here to buy.

Across cultures and time, honor and manliness have been inextricably tied together. In many cases, they were synonymous. Honor lost was manhood lost. Because honor was such a central aspect of a man’s masculine identity, men would go to great lengths to win honor and prevent its loss.

If we take even a cursory look at history, honor pops up over and over again as a central theme in literature and life. The epic poems of Homer are primarily about honor and man’s quest to achieve and maintain it. If you read Shakespeare’s plays with a close eye, you’ll find that honor and manhood take center stage as reoccurring themes. During the 17th and all the way into the early 20th century, upperclass men in Europe and the United States regularly engaged in duels on “fields of honor” to defend their manhood. When signing the Declaration of Independence, the American Founding Fathers “mutually pledged to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.”

But what exactly is honor?

We throw the word around quite a bit in our modern lexicon and give it a lot of lip service, but if you were to ask someone, “What is honor?” you’ll likely be answered with furrowed brows and head scratches. We think we know what it is, but often find it difficult to articulate when pressed. If you’re lucky enough to get an answer out of someone, they’ll likely say that honor means being true to a set of personal ideals, or being a man of integrity.

Honor=integrity is the point to......

Brandy - It’s not disagreeing that make the hater, but how they frame it. There is a history of this from both the Kool-Aid servers, who plant, then delete, and then they try to spin it as ‘disagreeing’, ‘alternate viewpoints’, ‘any-other-bs-cover’, etc. Typical bait and switch. Many have seen this, but will remain silent, usually due to a conflict of interest (usually popularity). Thankfully, I don’t suffer from such bondage. I refused to pay the dues upon my arrival in 2014 and have never regretted it. Look closer and see The Beautiful People.

I don't doubt your method or the results. I am just saying that sometimes it is ok to fight. Doesn't make you a lesser person, and another myth, it does not drop you to their level. If you ever change your mind, it would be good to see you on the battlefield.

I stood up to this woman. (No fighting) I was persistent. She was removed from the Poetry Site. (By Me) She tried every way she could to beat me down, after being deleted. I turned the other cheek many times, thinking I could talk to her. Wrong!! (The Harassing emails) Almost broke me. I blocked her on my email. Sent her messages to Spam. Silence was golden. It truly was. I ignored her. She finally went away. This is in the past! I am stronger now, because of what happened.

One could drive the energy into a poem like Theo did, but I still believe that sometimes, only a fight will do. Covert methods can help keep the peace at times.

I know this scripture very well. I am thankful that the Good Samaritan didn't walk away. I am also thankful that I had support, that many stood beside me, when I was going through a tough situation. Theo is a good friend and she posted this on a different Poetry Site, not the site I was the Admin over. She dedicated it to me. She also went through a tough situation with this woman. https://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-inconstant-poetess/

Brandy - yeah, blocking is an option. The good Samaritan could of just kept walking too, but the Levite and the priest did that. Back in 2014, it was a stranger, this current situation, it's a friend of mine.

Robert - Indeed, that is their game, when you stand up for yourself and tell the truth, they start a narrative of how they are being victimized by some 'feeler'. Some of those that frequent their Kool-Aid stand, do eventually wake up though.

Before I was the Admin of a Poetry Site. Trouble makers were present. A few attacked me. I handled it, and gracefully so. There is an option here, to block. I think that would be the best way to handle this situation. Allowing the negative to be posted, only adds more fuel to the fire. Just sayin'.

Yet now I am supposed to be -thin skinned and wrong for objecting to being attacked- not once but multiple times on this blog. Your comment nailed it.. Sad that disinformation is now being put out to unsuspecting members that did not read what actually occurred.

Yes, and others that do not know how the first person leveled a false charge, and then when being kindly asked to be civil made a statement questioning my manhood-- even later returned to apologize and in that apology - insulted me again. I have it all copied.

I am just a simple woman, but from what I gather- someone posted a comment disagreeing with some of the contents in this Blog. That doesn't sound like a Bully to me, or someone trying to Attack. It sounds like someone was placing their opinion here. We place our opinions (through comments) on Poetry all the time. Seems to me, and again- I am just a simple thinker. It should have been addressed differently. Comment: "Okay- thank you for your thoughts on this blog. I disagree, but I understand what you are trying to say" Something like that. ~ Brandy

So true. Here we deal with poetry as our primary method of communication. As an Art, it above other art forms- should represent the author's thoughts, creativity, life/love and others views in an honest and honorable way, imho. Sure we fail at times, nobody is perfect but to try to maintain that is paramount in my estimation. Thank you for commenting. God bless...

To act with honor, seems to be a completely alien concept to some, methinks. As to my method of blogging. I choose how I do it, I also cite any source I care to present. I will not let two other people DICTATE to me how to post or come in to object to the blog with made up offences they use to try to vilify me. Thanks to my friends for support and standing up for what is right. God bless

In order to stop this rude and improper aggressive action. I have deleted posts and blocked from my blogs two of the culprits. As each one does not care to act in a civil manner nor issue a sincere apology. Once exposed in the light, playing the parts of being an angel does not cut it with me. I after being attacked more than once by each- do not care to give each leeway to allow more of the same.

In the past I have deleted and not said a word about such behavior(such insulting comments made )-- which has happened to me in past blogs and in comments on my poetry. Seems that was a mistake as seems to me some thought me an easy mark./ I am not --not in real life nor at this poetry site.

I made the choice not bring Tommyboy into this -hoping it would die down- to which Craig decided to accuse me of wallowing in pity while letting Tommyboy suffer. I have not received a true, sincere apology from that debacle and thus decided to not bring it into this new attack issued by Craig. Now that Craig brought it into this I have to respond.

Nice. So you get the ball rolling, then come back in to save a suspect with priors, deflecting and my favorite part, “Take a deep breath”. God I love you Beautiful People. I really do, it adds spice to the soup. Classic ‘Company’ stuff, but you didn’t work for them, but private sector for sure. Maybe once we get Tommy’s apology, we can work on one for Robert? Sorry Rob- I removed his comment to which you have replied.. I am tired of this, how some few start conflict , then play innocent and come to distort the truth of their deliberately harmful replies. Several suggested I just block both antagonists- I did as was suggested. God bless..

Thank you my friend. I tried to remain silent but seems Craig wanted to return. He could have sent me a true sincere apology by soupmail. And not added the last line being that it is an insult- a false charge again made about me. " BTW, is it honorable to bathe in pity while letting the innocent suffer - not." As I chose not to bring in the past action by SonofSpock. For which also- no apology has been issued.

Yes, that is the basis of honor. However, that system must be a set of principled stands based upon good not evil. Based upon a keen sense of justice, civility, empathy for others and kindness - or else it is not honor-but- instead a dark creed of selfish taking and abusing of others for personal gain and/or even delight. As to the one somebody saved--I have those comments copied and saved. And yes, it definitely was a direct attack upon me and my blog...
