When someone you love is feeling soooooo sad, what do yo do?

I ask if they wanna talk about it ,I then give them some space but letting them know Im still there to listen.I try not to bombard them with any of my problems. I try changing their mood ny asking them.to go for a walk or a ride..If nothing helps I just give them space and time ..and make sure they know i love them.

I think the best thing to do is let them know you are there for them, be a good listener, let them know how special they are

hey , didn't I see this one a while ago with comments under it? Gosh, this is a tough one to answer because if it is an ordinary sadness, that will pass, and I can simply comfort the person. Stay and talk with them, etc. But depression is another story. I live with a person who used to get very depressed and nothing made him happy. Finding the right plan which usually involves a type of drug treatment is necessary in this case and can make all the difference.

Andrea, l agree. If its a mental illness kind of depression they made need professional help. I was referring to the ordinary sadness.
