What Facinates Me

What fascinates me is seeing a child ride a bike after many falls. It shows if you keep at something, you will eventually get it. Or seeing a baby bird soaring high in the sky. Because they understood they were born to fly. The thing that really moves me is seeing a toddler take their first steps. It takes courage to believe you can walk if you never have. Lastly, it moves me to the core when I see young children playing, before they're told(taught) they were different. At this stage of their young lives embody what being colorblind truly means. * I didn't write this for the contest; however, the prompt inspired me. 05-16-2022

Love it, I wish I had a video of my son on his first bike ride, he got on before I knew it, had training wheels but down the hill he went into a tree : ). Amen so much wisdom and knowledge in your poem, love it

Precious poem, Alexis. What fascinates me is to see a child notice another child. They are crying are hurt or just look lonely. The first child goes over and gives the other child a big hug. Melts my heart. Love is a fascinating thing to observe. Smiles and Blessings my friend, Bill

Your poetic words remind me of childhood, and also watching my children persist in something hard until they get it right. The Will is a fascinating thing! Nicely written, Alexis! :)

Alexis, you have woven together some compelling metaphors for virtues to pursue: perseverance, knowing who you are, courage, and a colorblind attitude towards humanity. A wonderful tapestry of thoughtful poetry, my friend. I hope you are having a wonderful day ~ John
