Emptiness

When we met you literally swept 
me off my feet,
You were a pleasant surprise and 
a treasured gift.
I felt in my heart of hearts that
we were destined to meet.
But just like the season’s change
so did our relationship.

You went from a loving man to a
narcissist very fast.
The only person that you truly loved
was yourself alone.
Our story won’t have a good ending
and it will not last.
As I lay next to you I feel so broken  
and utter emptiness.

Jennifer Proxenos Date: 3/26/2023 5:32:00 AM This is so sad because I instinctively feel that you are a loving giving person and always will be, not like the selfish man who used his pretense on you and beguiled you into thinking that he was a someone who loved you, who was not in reality who you had accepted into your heart and life, and subsequently broke your heart and had to face up to who he really was, a narcissist.
