Grief

Sadness lifted, its stay was short and brief
Out of nowhere entered an unwelcome guest
Waves of sadness engulf me, there's no relief
Sadness lifted, its stay was short and brief
Now I dodge the night because of intense grief
It feels like a huge mountain is on my chest
Now it's hard to breathe, I need a life vest
Sadness lifted, its stay was short and brief

I'm so sorry my friend my heart goes out to you - losing a loved one leaves a void in one's life but God is good and you can turn to Him at any time and your friends write time at any time you want to and I'll write back to you . Your sadness in the poem brings tears to my eyes dear Alexis, think of the good times and the good memories you have, it helps . Hugs and love, be blessed my dear friend Jennifer

I like your triolet. You described short grief so well that it resounds with familiarity. I guess I life goes on

Funny how emotions can take over us. We don’t mind when its joy, but grief is hard to bear. Hugs ~ Kim

Who has not felt some grief in his life? But it comes and goes. Loved your poem.

Dear Alexis, You have beautifully and artistically captured the relentless cycle of sorrow, how it ebbs and flows unpredictably, leaving us gasping for air under its weight. Your words evoke a visceral understanding of the heaviness that grief brings, like a suffocating presence we cannot shake off. You have written such raw emotions with vulnerability and honesty. Blessings, my friend, Daniel
