Black and White - White and Black

Black and White – White and Black Blinded by a Lack of compassion Alone on a silent Corner watching Kindness take A back seat as Needless prejudice Drives division Why does it always Have to be Insisted that we Take sides, Either…or When we are all Human beings Individuals’ maybe Though still the same Existing Amongst each other Not a color Different shades of skin But people who Live, love and learn, so please Accept one another Cancel out hate Know peace Written for The Colors Black and White poetry contest before I realized Acrostics weren’t being accepted. Oh well, thought I’d post it anyway.

Hi Chris, I loved the message in this acrostic.I agree, we are individuals with different shades, who live, love and learn. And "hate" is all of our enemy because it keeps us apart instead of bringing us together. I wish you the best of luck in the contest. You know it's a winner in my book. A without a doubt seven and a fav:-) Alexis

Thanks so much my sweet friend. Yep, sadly that is so true and I love how you said it, "Hate is all of our enemy" I didn't enter this in the contest because it was the wrong form but I appreciate your kindness and thoughtful words.

Another profound poem. Excellently penned. It's tragic that one person can look at another person and only see the color of their skin. Labels, political correctness, identity politics all contribute to this tragedy.
