The Colour of My Heart

The colour of my heart? I see you, and you see me... but, what is it ... that you really see? Can you see ... inside of me? Can I see ... inside of you? Do you see my colour? Can you see... the colour ... of my heart? Chorus What is the colour of a human heart? Is it the colour of peace... just like a dove? Or, is it the colour... of the dark clouds you see up above? Can you see the colour of my heart? Please try and see the colour... the colour of my beating, human heart. Did you know that the heart... does not have a skin? It's not black, white or red... but, it's what ... we truly are... deep within! Can you see the colour... can you see the colour of my heart? Go to Chorus Is there a chance that you could ever see... beyond the superficial and see the real me? Can you understand oh, foolish, foolish man That the colour of a human heart... is the very, very same in you... and me. Can you see the colour of my heart? These are good lyrics John. Great concept for a song.I think if it were mine, in that last verse, after...beyond superficial. I'd write, "leave behind the prejudicial" or something similar. Really "sweet" write, John:)

WoW! John, these are some good lyrics. I would love to see this set to music. However, your lyrics alone were deep and profound. They really got to me and moved me to tears. This stanza is what did it for me "Did you know ,that the heart...does not have a skin?It's not black, white or red...but, it's what ...we truly are...deep within!Can you see the colour...can you see the colour of my heart?"
