No Longer In Despair

As I bask in sun,
            think of battles won
                        today.
              Problems weighed a ton;
               I thought I was done.
                     No way!
            Next, I sought the Son,
            beat down couldn’t run,
                      nor play

              My life, in dismay
             I couldn't think per se,
                        despair
             Problems had it's say
            they didn't stay at bay,
                       not fair
            so I kneeled; to pray,
            was too much on tray;
                     left bare

             I breathed in the air,
           became made a ware;
                     of son
             his love is so rare,
         it's something to share;
                    and stun.
           I can't forget he's there,
            no longer in despair;
                     it's done.

Hi Alexis my dear friend, i really loved your poem, really deep as He the Son takes away our despair, and as you knelt, of Him you became aware, now all is good, your soul in repair. hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Alexis, this looks very challenging! I like what you did with the rotating rhymes and the short lines; enjoyed the references to prayer and the Son when needing help out of a tough situation. Blessings ~ John

There are bound to be challenges and setbacks in one's lifetime; this much is a given. I pray your feelings of hopelessness fade away soon.

Like the rain washed sky, your mind has become clear with God on your side. You'll no more be in despair. Life cannot be all sunny, there can be problems and misfortunes. But you'll get the strength and grace to tide over all torrents of life . Happy for you Alexis !

When we're down, and the referee starts counting to ten we must not give in; instead we have to find a last ounce of strength in Him who has the power to get us back on our feet. // Your poem brings so many thoughts to mind, Alexis. Thank you for sharing. Regards // paul
