Lullaby Loving You
Another awake,
another empty dawn awaits
Nothing to look forward to
at the end of the day
A lonely walk,
giving myself a coffee pep talk
Then your morning glow
gave my eyes a proper bright hello
Oh, beautiful butterfly
with the sunflower smile
Fluttering by
in rainbow polka dot style
I saw you land
on a park bench in Belle Isle,
sitting alone for a little while
So I made a smooth gardener move,
and gently planted myself next to you
A budding conversation then ensued ...
my goodness, how quickly things grew
Love petals in my heart blossoming anew,
I now understand some rain is necessary too
Though the seasons have changed,
my feelings for you remains the same
Blissful evenings in my life ... sunset skies with a golden hue
Every night,
I have pillow dreams
of lullaby loving you
In the moonlight,
I dream of sunbeams
Me lullaby loving you
Then I awake the next day,
daydream waiting to meet you
all over again
Detroit daydreaming
every night
Pillow sighs
of lullaby loving you
Romantic moonlighting
every single night
Sunbeam thoughts
of me lullaby loving you
Then I awake the next day,
daydream wanting to meet you
for the first time to begin
