i do very poorly, dangerously even, with general anesthia.  This time around it took my self-identity, made me violent, forget where i was, not understand The Drive to Survive, forget loved ones. Got out of hosp about 10 days ago.  Was in there about a month while undergoing 4: yes, 4 general anesthesia vascular operations on legs.  Been wrapped up in huge gauze snowboot-like footwear ever since. Yest, after 3 years of "NOweight of feet allowed," am allowed to carefully get back on my feet.  There is still atrocious pain to endure most of the time. 
i've been too ill to come here to read & comment, but do feel about ready to get back to it.       The anesthesia put me through a huge spiritual battle, which some priest aided counselling now helping me with.  I did start a number of longer poems while ill, which helped keep my sanity, i think.  Didn't have any drawing stuff with me, but words, words about living and dance were able to keep me from a complete loss of my God-given meaning & purpose. I've written a poem about a Cardinal, called "Lunacy Loo Flies."                                                                                              Loo inspired me, because in losing herself, she was able to be inspired into a greater being on a vaster route.  My heart flies with this character, because she is exalting in her assumed new flight & song, to become a model for me.  I am so thankful to be a Souper, blessed by your prayers & the growing closeness of so many of you.  Poetry is a deep well from which we are blessed to quench our thirst together.  I am thankful.  Hugs to all!
