The Souls Longing Wish To Write Its Poetry

** The Soul’s Longing Wish to Write Its poetry **

The poems sleep
Together in a wreath of curled words,
Poised awaiting, allied, all set to affect
Their impact
Summoned
From the depths of a restless wish to speak;

Like a lay of Ring-Tailed-Lemurs
— A span of fur in their dreams —
Jostled about, awakening
With whiskers and ear-tips twitching —

Like poems — nudged
By a distant alerting
Call to move from their deep well-springs
On to heaven’s higher ground.

The lemurs lift their heads:
The alarmed pounding
    — Of their beating hearts altogether —
Reverberates — carried far
By breeze flowing air
Beyond their lair — Thus
Ready to spring up —
Ready to sniff and dash!
Ready to leap. One by one they run
To skatter, skittering
Out from a cherished hiding
Into light

Along paths poems may take
Into opening spaces
    Of a new dawn’s graces
— Urging by calls to advance
Into knowing, letting
The Soul also speak
Faith’s intoned lines…
To lead a motion through discoveries
 Before a third struggle
     To surfaceo
Before drowning
Dissolves the reaching words into howling ~
And
Startling every tree’s sleeping leaves
         To jitter and blink
         With a-quivering question ~
What voice here surges
To create such sincere lyrics
From within our penning poets,
Hearing the aches of humanity’s advancing?
But, ‘tis not our poet’s heart that sings!
Neither is it the mind nor memories ~

‘Tis the soul itself sending poetry,
Wanting its Voice to be written;
Hoping to be known;
True to its glorious source —
Creator of All, including
The Word —
So…do…learn…listen…transcribe…
As the Soul’s Voice alive,
Alive, indeed,
Clearing the bounds of a forest —
Ready to thrive.

Cliff, i dont see reading earlier posted poems as Late. I think it more a matter of looking for poem themes of interest, disregarding dates, But, i was told one brother poet always hunts to read The First Poem Posted, which gives insights'. Best wishes 4 your day!

So, in response to those thoughts of suicide, my soul (outside me) spoke, moving me to Transcribe ss the poem poured out. Posted here as “Warning Words from My Soul,” telling, i think, in metaphors, what happens to those who commit suicide, and i find so SCARY such thought i no longer allow whatsoever, tho despair attempts to cross my path along with horrid trials w/pain such as i must call for Christ’s nearness & mercy. xoxo

Wow, Len! Let me say your comment blows me away.i’m running quite late, just now reading it. May i say that the Soul having its own voice surprised me too! The background is, that in wee hours, after non-stop level 8 physical pain, despair moved into me & brought thoughts of oh how essy it would be to die…suicide…. (Continued above i guess)

Timothy! Hi. Please forgive my belated reply. You’ve pointed to the neuropathways elsewhere as well. Not only in creating artworks, but i gather those nerves are the same causing chills when reading or hearing something startling, & also while praying? Hugs! Sally

The soul speaks, and the body hears to respond by way of the heart, the feeling center of its physical body-vessel. Love the intertwining imagery of your poem!~ essence reaching up, penetrating spiritual canopy, above into outer physical relationship, onward into an unknown universe, where joy and terrors equally await the newly released Light~ itself a non quantitative new variable, freed to be indeterminable. I don't understand a bit of what I just wrote. But I do know that I love your poem!
