Notes About The Poem

Home Is My Beating Heart

 
I call my apartment (my home) my nest,
with this and that collections and beloved stuff displayed:
Oh, when within my nest I am not stressed,
where my art supplies, books and papers are arrayed;
and it is a place where my soul-   can rest.

There is a beautiful kitty that waits,
when I open the door I get meows, kisses and love:
I dread the day heaven opens the gates,
and kitty walks over rainbow bridge to above;
so, amazing the special love-   life creates.

Often, I don't want to leave my nest home,
so nice to listen to quiet music, to draw and write:
In my home library I love to roam,
with the sun shining in the windows it feels right;
so I stop-   selecting to read a vast tome.

The house artfully laid with a library must be cosy ! A soothing poem dear Constance. I too love cats, but unfortunately my husband is averse to them. So gradully I have learnt to adapt to his interests and focus more on my garden.
