Always Gray

they say look, and the sun will come one day oh, but they did not say all they knew like vines that climb and choke the light the stars are darker than the night and the pain i've gained from losing you like the absent dawn will always be gray 8/17/23

What a very poignant but beautifully written poem with its clever symmetrical rhyme scheme (enveloped rhyme??). Kudos to you Michelle. Cheers - Gsry

Such a beautiful poem Michelle expressed so well.So much conveyed and felt in those few lines. The line, ‘ like vines that climb and choke the light’ is so powerful. A very poignant, touching poem which I am going to fave as, having lost and still grieving for my beloved father, I can, like so many, relate to. Poetry is to be felt, to touch the soul, not just heard and this one I felt immensely. Thank you Michelle.

This is so sad Michael. It brings my dear brother-in-law to my mind. My sister passed away in December, and the love of her life, married to her since he was seventeen, has been so devastated. All who knew and love her so much, are so heart broken, but for him, this poem is a comparative to his heart. Beautiful poem, loss is horrendous in the passing of the incredibly loved and beautiful. Your heart bespeaks the passing of a beautiful person.

It is often claimed that time possesses the remarkable ability to alleviate one's sorrows; however, the anguish stemming from the loss of a loved one is enduring and remains steadfastly present.
