Love Is My Muse

What if love is my muse, and you are the rosy red poem in my soul? Will you lead my ink to feel your warm air— thaw hail in this iced mind? When dim rays fall as pale hues. I sit and gaze at the calm halo of the moon, in your sky from afar. I seek for a silk sign, to feel the echo of your sigh near me. So when the last leaf does wilt, I will rest my pen, and seal my eyes, to read you like fine art in a gold book of firm vows. But what if the heat of hurt sets fire to the navy blue page of this tale? Will the seas then ease my pain? or will I be lost, as I fade like a grey star, from dust of hazy dusk? Can this song be the tune to your life? For I miss you more than any cues can tell. Yet when you are gone, your name will be my last sigh, and this love will glow like the sun that will rise amid cold onyx rain.

I have re-read this.. it is quite beautiful. Fave. It kinda reached into my soul with "For I miss you more than any cues can tell." There are many more poetic and lyrical lines.. but that was the one, Ink.

This would be a strong entry for the contest, if you choose to enter, Ink. It is a beautiful display of poetry under such constricting form guidelines. I added this poem to my FAVs list. I like the way you ask the "what if" question, then used imagery and descriptions to build the Love. Your final statement, "this love will glow like the sun that will rise amid cold onyx rain", was powerful and full commitment. Whatever the challenge, Love is. Thanks for sharing yur gift with us. Dear Ink, What can I say about your style here? Hmm.. (thinks) It suits me, crisp and neat yet colourful with beautiful descriptions.. restrained and yet, heart-felt. Yep, I think that is it.. I really liked the line "For I miss you more than any cues can tell." because it tugged at my raw emotions. You do this very well :)

Dearest Ink, your words flow like the most saccharine melody that echoes in the name of love..You truly have expressed utmost deep emotions in this poem which whisper the feelings of your heart, in such an eloquent way! This form is definitely challenging with using only 4 letter words or less, but you've definitely nailed it! Wow..... When a restriction comes, I feel so baffled. A bad workman always blames his tools. Through this poem you have proved that there is no barrier before a gifted poet.... short words or long words... nothing bothers you. This is a poem where you have eptomized love as a soul filling energy. When it is gone, still its very memory will instil you as you say when you conclude your poem."Yet when you are gone, your name will be my last sigh, and this love will glow like the sun that will rise amid cold onyx rain." OMG,Empress! And you muse of love filled you here! Now, I must say(while i agree w/Sotto) these lines for me took Love to its pure, created divine, soul-completing dimension! The early reference to the Sacred, rose, Heart of Christ, & your seeking ‘signs’ set your love/beloved distinctly in Heaven’s inspired dimension…a Fav. Wow!
