The 2019 Poetry Marathon Contest FINISH LINE!

READY… SET… GO! December 20, 2018, signaled the start of the 2019 Poetry Marathon Poetry Contest. After 122 days, 27 contests and 945 submitted poems the results are in!

A PHOTO FINISH!!!

First Place congratulations goes to Sandra Haight! It was a photo finish, coming down to the final submitted poem, and Sandra was able eke out the extra 7 tenths (.7) of a point to win first place. Sandra had 19 placements out of 27 contests, 12 of which were podium finishes. Sandra toughed out the 27 contests, neck and neck with Greg, and brought it home at the end. Way to go, Sandra!

Second Place congratulations goes to Gregory Barden! Greg had 20 placements, 12 of which were podium finishes. All of this while working on an R&B/Soul album for a major record label! Greg lead the entire race from the beginning, until the final placement contest. Greg, you are a class act and awesome poet. We salute you my friend!

Third Place congratulations goes to Andrea Dietrich. Andrea had 18 placements, 7 of which were podium finishes. Despite her busy, exciting life writing poetry for music videos and motion pictures, she took the time to support my 2019 Poetry Marathon Contests, and we love her for it! Thanks a million, Andrea!

These are the poems of the qualifiers of the marathon, poems that already placed in the race, and that were handpicked by the poets themselves to submit to this final contest. They are all AWESOME!

oh geez, I just now read what you wrote about me. You flatter me, Mark. it was one movie that was finished last year! And all you required of us was to submit poems already written. But each of the HMs have an actual placement in the contest, which I indicate in my comment on their poetry page on each of their poems that are on the list.
