In your last meow,
   I held you right on my heart;
      then- then you left me . . .

                I held you till you were stone,
                          and I had to let you go.

Valerie, thank you. I lost my old cat Smudges to death in June 2018. She died at home in my arms and I did hold her till she was stone. She loved the garden. How long will I weep for her? . . . Forever ! Thanks for the compliment !
