Parting Peace

As the last sun sets
and life ebbs away,
ugly words and deeds
flash across his mind
and he feels ashamed.

Bitter tears flow
into the mire
of squandered time
he can't redeem.

His eyes dim
as he begs
forgiveness.

God hears -
At last

Peace.

That's so kind of you,Mark. I don't know why so few are entering poems for these blogs. I've been educated in four previously unbeknown poetry forms already and have enjoyed the challenges.
