'David' by Michelangelo Fir JBU002.jpg

Michelangelo’s David Extol the grace of mortal man fashioned by Buonarroti’s hands. What priceless handsome figure made, the youthful David, bold and brave. A statue of a human form, anatomized, perfectly norm. Giant, quarried, pure white stone, shaped in fashioned style of Rome. Standing, heroic, nude male, ready to take on huge assail. Pure wisdom and firm sinew in glory of a naked view. Amazing how each crease and fold, is captured as a movement told. 2/21/19 2019 Poetry Marathon Final Placement / Sponsor: Mark Toney 9th place written 1/21/17

Congratulations for your win with this beautiful poetry about the statue David (and for your overall performance in the marathon). I could have sworn I saw the statue years ago when I got to visit Louvre and Rome but I just now googled that it's not in those places I wonder if I saw replicas? or just a similar type of statue. Anyway, VERY WELL DONE, Janis.

I love, passionately, when depth is served by brevity; to me, it is a true talent. You engage us on a romp thru facts told with crisp creativity. Trophy worthy - this poem spiked my poetry adrenaline and I love it when that happens. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
