Big Step

Looking back on how far I’ve come,
God’s kept his promise and word.
Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude,
Experiencing the opposite of expectations.

His faithfulness and goodness is unmatched,
I’m so confused had to do a head scratch.
Falling on my knees prayer form,
Giving you honor and praise is my norm.

I’ve been desiring this for the longest,
Now it’s happening with little stress.
Like, how are you this good to me?
Blessing me in ways that I can’t believe.

Overwhelming satisfaction fills my soul,
Your spirit keeps me intact and whole.
Urging me to remain on this path,
Progressing and excelling task by task.

As the moment arrives ever closer,
The weight is rising on my shoulders.
I know I’m prepared for this occasion,
Leaving children is not his reputation.

Really cool how you captured that mix of awe and chill faith in a Quatrain format, Rich.
