Thelooking Glass Self

When my eyes stare At my endless reflection I seem to bear My souls intentions But when I look away My connection is lost And throughout the day I tally a cost Of who They want me to be And the life I’m supposed to lead But then all they see Is their culmination of greed They say I’m to go to school They say I‘m to follow I’ve become their fool And now I feel hollow Because all I want Is simplicity at best And with my future they taunt It’s a subliminal test To stand up for myself And do what I want to do To recognize my own wealth And for me to follow through I just want to be loved And to feel free To be hugged And live as me.

Awesome soul interest in this, Matthew. As foolish as this might seem to some carnal minds, the merit of what you've said, and the way you've said it is fact. To see a soul it is said, "you must look into the eyes of the flesh body." I find that when I study my own reflection in the mirror while shaving, as I look into my own eyes, my soul reveals many mysterys of life. Many of my poems are as a result of this inner communication, of the derivative mind with the soul. Agape, Moses
