Glow
Glow
I can only make you happy
When I act a little dumb
When I don’t express my feelings
You prefer me to be numb
So your stinging shouldn’t sting me
And your scoffing too is fair
My defense and my rebuttal
You don’t hear them, you don’t care
You just use me as a mirror
You decide what I reflect
Always mimicking my merits
Even though there’s no respect
Always taking, never giving
And your ignorance is real
Without light, there’s no reflection
There’s no beauty, no appeal
And the light is what you’re missing
You’re not happy, and I know
I’ll endure so you’ll keep shining
Though it’s just a silly glow.
