Please identify a poem for me
|
I'm now 73 and I remember a snatch of a poem from my childhood. It is, I'm sure, about a magpie, but could be a jackdaw or another bird. It's story of something being stolen, perhaps a piece of jewellery and, I think, of someone being blamed for the theft. The poem ends with the great line "But it's my belief, he's the thief".
I have searched and searched but can't find the poem. Can anyone help?
