Happy New Year & Thanks, Fellow Soupers! - Gregory Richard Barden's Blog

Welcome to my page!

I am a man of many interests - TOO many, I think, lol - and because of that I never gave writing the attention I should have when I was young. I started writing poetry in December of 2016, and joined Poetry Soup at the same time. I am currently working on an R&B/Soul album for a major label, so, as has usually been the case, poetry does not get the time I'd like to give it, (though I plan to change that in the future, and write a book-or-two, a sci-fi novel and an autobiography) ...

I like to incorporate classic styles and phrasing into a modern frame when I write poetry, and try to cover a wide range of genres, but I enjoy the darkly sensual the most, despite its limited audience. I hope you'll give my rather unusual style a chance, read a piece-or-two, and leave a comment, if you'd be so kind. I also hope you'll visit my music web site as well, (at the following address under my moniker "Bahku") - mostly (very) old recordings there, but also a snippet of the first single coming, and more new stuff soon!

My Dear Soupers -

What a year it has been! I joined the site just last year, and yet this place has now become a wonderful and peaceful refuge for me, a place where I can grow and get positive critique, where I can get constant help and encouragement with my work, and mostly, where I have made some amazing and priceless friendships that I know will last forever!

I just want to make sure, despite how busy I am and the fact that I don't get to comment or reply or blog as much as I like, (I will get around to those things eventually - thanks for your patience!), that you all know how incredibly grateful I am for your endless kindness and support, your invaluable friendship, and the superb talents that you selflessly share with me on a daily basis!

Bless and thank everyone from the bottom of my heart ... I pray this year that I can be as much of a positive influence on the site as it has been on me, and that I make even MORE lifetime friendships and return your kindnesses in every way I can. No place is perfect, but this feels like home to me, and it's because of the good people - YOU!

Have the happiest New Year possible, and I hope it holds wonderful blessings for you all! I love you folks ... I really do, and that's not a word I throw around carelessly or casually.
