Sunset Lullaby
How dreamy are the sunset rays
whose colors blend, then fade away
they calm the skies at close of day.
How marvelous to hear the leaves
that rustle faintly in the breeze
with windswept notes that float and tease.
How heavenly to rock away
inside a boat that sways and strays
along a stream beside the bay.
How comforting it is to know
that angels watch me as I go
their wings surround me as I sleep
as night descends to safely keep.
How peaceful as I go along
while curtains in the sky are drawn
and hear those distant lullabies
that whisper sweetly in my mind.
