a warm hello, everyone!... based on my psychology studies, we overproduce certain hormones depending on our emotional scale and lifestyle.. interesting? .. excessive adrenaline and cortisol punch a wallop when we get stressed –out, react in an overwhelming manner ( anger, dissatisfaction),or live on the edge... these patterns lead to chronic fatigue, possible diseases, depression, and body fat storage, among others...
now, the good news...for a balanced well-being, we can quell these hormones by releasing ‘happy’ ones, like endorphins...they fight the gangster hormones by reducing
anxiety and lifting our moods!...serotonin, endorphin and dopamine, on the other hand, regulate our blood pressure, keep us relaxed, and make us feel really good.. how? ... my teach said, “ laugh, exercise, listen to calm music, stay positive, enjoy activities you are fond of, eat right, have enough sleep, maintain a good diet, and create warm relationships.”... ahem, this sounds harder for me!..
i had an excess of these hormones while judging the SAND contest.. you all made this challenge very difficult to judge ( adrenaline and cortisol mixed together)...there are so many talented poets here on soup street...( serotonin up!)
next, i had to grapple with the fact that a lot did not follow basic rules,ohhh... since brilliant entries were posted , i decided that entrants who used the chosen title without adding words may be be considered but got lower points...( stress hormones on the rise)...in conscience, i just had to include these poets as their entries were incredible...
however, others who missed out on placing their names, title of contest, date of poem were excluded, drat! ( stressors elevated, sigh)... i hope we can follow the rules next time?
