' The way to heaven is within. Shake
the wings of love--when love's wings have become
strong, there's no need to trouble about
a ladder' -- Rumi
~
Afloat on borderless curves of an airway,
tinges of iridescent flame drape my essence
in brush-stroked canvas from the purplish
hint of mid-autumn... its velvet outline
swirling along petals to gently unfold
their varnished ribs imbuing fragrant whiffs,
a melodic tune for rare dances of love's act…
Two four eight clicks spin into kindness
as wings circle ‘round my inner heaven
studded with light, glittering rivering
through the space of endless joy and warmth:
How my core lingers in this dimension
a need to reside with a calm spirit, magnanimous—
‘till my baby wails somewhere known
rousing this consciousness back to real-world;
that I…I, from this portal of introspection
must leave a while to settle my earthly deeds,
bake bread for my old neighbor, knock on
my heart-broken friend's door, and finally
embrace abiding repose, not now perhaps
but someway in His own blessed time.
