THIS THING CALLED BIRTH ORDER...

Blog Posted:10/25/2012 2:56:00 PM

i remember how our  parents rounded all of us when we were still growing up, and asked where we wanted to spend their forthcoming anniversary… the eldest chose an out-of -town resort for the event.. but no, the youngest whined saying it had to be in grammy’s new farm… and  the second among us hushed everyone to consider what mom really wanted…but our firstborn sistah insisted she would have the last say…the long tug-of- conversation had just began… sounds familiar?

here’s an excerpt of my magazine article about the dynamics of birth order...

“Curiously, brothers and sisters may have the same parents, but the children have different value systems and behavioral patterns depending on their birth order.  So there goes the buffet of preferences, choices and moods --- much like a combination pizza.”

as a middle child, i somehow tend to negotiate for a common ground when conflicts arise,  ewhhh! …our eldest , on the other hand, can snake- charm us till we finally agree to her whims…geez, how can she pull that off?... certainly, she knows how to boss us around, lol!

now, some sound bites you might enjoy…

*famous first-born people : oprah winfrey, bill clinton, brad pitt, albert einstein, sadam     hussein

*middle-child celebrities: jfkennedy, princess diana, van gogh, shakespeare, bill gates

*youngest-child personalities: jim carrey, whoopi golberg, cameron diaz, mark twain

*only-child luminaries :  queen elizabeth1, da vinci, gandhi, margaret thatcher, john lennon

------

** hillary and bill clinton are both firstborns; who is now having a heyday?

** madonna's edgy, domineering attitude makes her an eldest child... nopey, she's a middle child.

** da vinci may be an only child, but he has some half-siblings, thanks to his naughty dad!

so, how does your birth order influence  the way you deal with life?...spin ahead!

I am the youngest out of 6.. and also the only girl so I had a hard time growing up. I was constantly used for experiments and as a wrestling dummy for my brothers to practice on.. But I wouldn't change it for the world.. Have a great night cory

that's is quite accurate, cory...it's no wonder the youngest becomes the joker or the entertainer ( to cope with all the naggings of older siblings, really!)... ohhh, an only girl?... makes me wonder if you think like a man ( which is good...:)
