i remember how our parents rounded all of us when we were still growing up, and asked where we wanted to spend their forthcoming anniversary… the eldest chose an out-of -town resort for the event.. but no, the youngest whined saying it had to be in grammy’s new farm… and the second among us hushed everyone to consider what mom really wanted…but our firstborn sistah insisted she would have the last say…the long tug-of- conversation had just began… sounds familiar?
here’s an excerpt of my magazine article about the dynamics of birth order...
“Curiously, brothers and sisters may have the same parents, but the children have different value systems and behavioral patterns depending on their birth order. So there goes the buffet of preferences, choices and moods --- much like a combination pizza.”
as a middle child, i somehow tend to negotiate for a common ground when conflicts arise, ewhhh! …our eldest , on the other hand, can snake- charm us till we finally agree to her whims…geez, how can she pull that off?... certainly, she knows how to boss us around, lol!
