... but then that's nothing new. I've been a souper for some time, during which I have NEVER been able to crack the soup formatting secret. I'm no stranger to writing, and I believe that the "form" of the poem is important. However, it's nothing but frustration for me to carefully format a poem on my computer only to have it destroyed when I attempt to post it. For example, I occasionally want to have a margin on the left and right-justify my poem, and do so when writing it, only to have it posted with no margins and about as ragged as ragged can be. Is there any place on the site where I can find useful information about formatting my work? Any advice will be appreciated.

Jack, I have experienced this same problem when posting from my computer to the soup, so I no longer bother, I just re-type the poem on the soup that way I want it to be, sorry I am not much help but I figure re-typing is just as time saving as trying the re- format the poem ~~

Okay... This is what I just tried. First, in Word, change your Right Margin-- increase the size of the margin so that it is at 13 on your ruler. Ensure that your indent is set at O. Then type in your poem and play with spacing by using the space bar. Copy and paste it from word into Soup. This should work. One of the problems is that the area where we post our poems is not the same size as a regularly sized Word document. The posting area is somewhat smaller ... which causes problems when we copy and paste. Does this help? Hope so :D Good luck, Cyndi

Do you use Word 2010? If so, there is a very useful feature that I just found under page layout. If you have this version, go to "align" Under this tab, you can find something called, "View Gridlines" Using View Gridlines helps you see the placement better! Cool!!!

Well, I was playing with this for you... and I only had luck by using the space bar. It does not retain right justification, BUT you can give right justify it by adding the spaces in word to get the look you want and then copy and paste it into Soup. I know. A pain in the butt. I have done shape poems this way. Takes a lot of playing around. Maybe you could let TPS know you are interested in right justification. Cheers and good luck. :)
