	hot summer garden
	brown asparagus... okra...	
	bird-pecked tomatoes
	no delicacies this year
	to counter winter’s cold breath

hi jack, thanks for your kind comments on all three of my poems, lizzie siddal was addicted to laudanum...re your tanka here, it's very atmospheric and vivid and captures beautifully the contrast between summer and winter, love those "bird-pecked tomatoes" and love the last line too :)
